IDCAS Central Account System

Central Account System (CAS), Version 5.0.1

CAS is an online security management system which simplifies access to educational electronic resources. It was developed by Littlehall Corporation and is managed by the International Development Council for Academic Studies (IDCAS).

All IDCAS Data Centres are equipped with the very latest technology to offer highly secure, resilient, energy-efficient and cost-effective hosting solutions. Utilising two data centers in Boston, two in Arizona (USA) and one in France, over 2600 square feet of space is provided for the management of CAS. In total comprising of over 9000 Servers and half a Petabyte of storage, each center is equipped with around the clock security and run on N+1 power (both A/C and D/C).

Every server is clustered with another identical machine that will seamlessly take over if the primary unit crashes. These units are also backed up to another set of storage units that have a mirror copy of the data in case of disk failure in the primary units.

Through the use of high performance servers, diverse backbones and 24x7 network uptime, CAS provides a reliable service to universities, schools and professional bodies.

In the interests of cyber security all firewalls used to protect CAS incorporate IDP technology, cross-connected to the external world with BGP border gateway protocol.
